The Amazing Race Through 11 Seasons – Full Team Rankings

At last, my final post of the post-Season 11 series, before I resume going through the Race. Here I rank all 123 teams that competed in the first eleven seasons of The Amazing Race. For notes on my methodology, please refer to my previous post where I ranked all the legs.

The Amazing Race Through 11 Seasons – Full Season Rankings

We’ve now come to a major milestone in my TAR blogging project. All-Stars marked the end of an era of the Race, what I’ve labeled the first complete era. Moving forward, much will be different, even if the core of the show remains the same.

That makes this the perfect time to look back a bit, and do some aggregate posts looking back at the first eleven seasons of the Race. First up is a more in-depth season rankings list. Of course, I list my updated season rankings at the end of each season’s post, but that’s just a simple listing, along with my reasoning for the placement of the most recent season. I don’t actually explain when that list appears why each season is there, and we’re at the point where it would make sense to have a version of the list where I do.

So here, I’ll briefly (or as briefly as I do) summarize my opinions on each season in order, from worst to best. If you want a ‘reference guide’ for what I think of each season out of the first eleven, this is the post for you. And it should go without saying, but spoilers can be expected here! (But not for seasons after the first eleven.)

The Amazing Race All-Stars (Season 11): In-Depth Team Rankings

Spoilers for the first eleven seasons of The Amazing Race can be expected in this blog post, but not for seasons after All-Stars.

I originally planned to do full write-ups for every team on All-Stars. It was a season that naturally stood out for these – the teams in it are more interesting to analyze because they’re the second appearances of teams that we already know, and evaluated them in light of their first runs is an interesting thought exercise.

The Amazing Race All-Stars (Season 11): Thoughts and Rankings

The eleventh season of The Amazing Race is a very significant season, and an easy landmark to note in the history of the show, for two main reasons. For one, it is the season that really marks the end of The Amazing Race’s first era – it’s the last time we see several Race elements, and makes no changes to the Race format for one last old-style season, right before Season 12 will shake up quite a few aspects of the show’s format. But that trait of Season 11, the fact that it’s the end of an era, is made even more clear by the biggest, most obvious distinction that the season has: It’s All-Stars.

The Amazing Race All-Stars (Season 11): Thoughts on Casting

We have now come in my TAR blogging project to Season 11: All-Stars. This was the first season of The Amazing Race to feature returning teams from previous seasons, and in general, a fun exercise to undergo for these seasons is to think about what teams would be better or worse to invite back for such a season, and come up with personal castlists.

That’s what I’ll be doing in this blog post. I won’t be talking at all about Season 11 itself (I have not yet begun my rewatch of it), but instead will provide a couple of different looks at how the season could have been cast, including discussing the teams that I think would’ve been the best choices and ultimately providing my own cast for the season.
